    "Transform"

Transform paper to ceramic. Change perception through the process.  “Do not dwell in the past, do not dream of the future, concentrate the mind on the present moment.” — The Buddha Transform is a series that explores the journey of turning delicate paper into lasting ceramic — a meditation on impermanence, resilience, and shifting perception. Paper and clay, both from nature, respond differently to fire: one disappears; the other endures and strengthens. This transformation becomes a metaphor for life — and the unseen sacrifices behind what survives. Each sculpture is built from hundreds of small paper rings, dipped in porcelain slip and fired. These rings symbolize individuals — body and mind — connecting to form quiet, unified structures. The process recalls my Thai childhood, threading jasmine garlands as offerings to the Buddha — acts of devotion requiring time, care, and presence. This work began during my residency at Shigaraki Ceramic Cultural Park in Japan, where I found space to slow down, reflect, and deepen my connection to materials and meaning. To transform is to see differently. This work invites viewers to reconsider both the fragile and the enduring — and to find beauty in both.

Stillness of Peace at Mu Mu Gallery

In 2018, Thai ceramic artist Krisaya Luenganantakul received the International Artist Award at the Next Art Tainan exhibition titled "The Metamorphosis," organized by the Tainan City Government. This exhibition featured ten artists—seven from Taiwan and three international artists from Thailand, the UK, and the USA—and was held across ten art spaces in Tainan, including MUMU Gallery, where Krisaya's work was showcased.

Krisaya's participation in the exhibition was notable for her exploration of themes such as hybridity and transformation, aligning with the exhibition's focus on the amalgamation of humans, beasts, and machines. Her work, characterized by delicate ceramic forms that resemble paper-like rings, reflects a deep engagement with material experimentation and cultural narratives.
